Professional Development Offerings:

Workshops: Workshop PD Opportunities can be offered that focus on:

• A Feeling of Home: Creating and Maintaining Hospitality for Indigenous Students in k-12 Education
• Land-based vs. Place-based Education – Theory and Practice

Hospitality: In this PD, we will explore the ways in which schools can authentically Indigenize practices, coming from the recommendations made from and by Indigenous students themselves. We will specifically look at the realms of emotional (pedagogy), spiritual (relationships), physical (the school itself), and mental (the curriculum) as a means to bring about authentic hospitality for Indigenous learners.

Land-Based: In these sessions, we will differentiate between land-based and place-based education, with meaningful recommendations as to how to truly develop and implement land-based programming at the K-12 level.

Professional Learning Community Facilitator: Do you have a group of staff who are looking to reconcile their teaching? I’d love to facilitate a group that will help meet your school goals.

As I am a full-time classroom teacher, accommodations such as paying for substitute relief time may be required (depending on the date of your PD event).
