Canada’s First AP Land-Based Course for Indigenous Students
In partnership with the College Board, and Centre for Global Education, and funded by Indspire, Maclane developed and implemented Canada’s first ever AP Land-Based course, where Indigenous students develop career-ready, university education in a culturally relevant modality. Students are brought onto the land for sustained, culturally relevant opportunities.
Expanding Indigenous Land-Based Education Across Canada
This is followed by classroom seminars and discussions where Indigenous scholarship, literature, and art are centered to help contextualize land-based experiences. Additionally, students are paired with Indigenous faculty from various universities across turtle Island. This program is currently being rolled out across Canada, with Maclane as the lead trainer and coordinator.
