Reconciliation Through Connection at Shoal Lake 40
Maclane has developed a close working relationship with the community of Shoal Lake 40 First Nation. Maclane has been able to publish three papers examining the impact that bringing residents of Winnipeg to this location has had on furthering reconciliation efforts, given history of exploitation and colonialism surrounding the relationship between urban Winnipeg and Shoal Lake. This work is grounded in the philosophy that by decreasing the space between beings, the relationship that they share is increased.
